It is with sadness that we report the passing of Albert C Sanowskis, March 16th 2008. Albert was the inventor and founder of Preso Matic and was credited with many inventions. I met Albert when he was in his mid 70's and I hope to be in that shape, mind and spirit when I am his age. While we only spent a number of months together, I was intrigued to find his outlook and frame of mind agreed with me. He was a very interesting man and I have found working with the product of his invention(s) that he should be admired for his ability to have had a vision of this product and developed it. Many people after the 44 years that this product has been around have been amazed at its intricate yet simple design, that it stands a test of time and keeps working. I guess that's how he wanted it.
When Albert was first going to teach me about the lock he had invented, he said "when you look at it, it seems complicated, but it's really not, it's very simple". He was right. It looked like nothing I had seen. Solid material, springs, gaps and spaces working together, things moving in all different directions and viola - with the push of a button, it worked. My father used to call it magic. Albert called it simple. I called it genius.
If a person can be measured for one of his accomplishments, this one simple accomplishment, to me, is a magical result of a genius who was inspired to build it. I am proud to carry his legacy of it forward.
To Albert's family we extend a hand of sorrow and thought of prayer.
Sincerely,
The Campbell Family
